The invention relates to a system (10) for the preparation of a fish product in a microwave, as well as a storage (14) and a breaded fish product, in particular fish fingers (12), for such a system. Commercially breaded fish fingers are only available for frying, frying and baking. Fish sticks (12) that can be prepared attractively in a microwave are unknown in the market. There is therefore a need to provide breaded fish products, especially fish fingers, which can be easily and quickly brought to an edible temperature in a microwave and have a crispy breadcrumb on all sides, without problems in their preservation, which could affect the crispiness. This need is met by a system (10) comprising a. the fish product, coated with a steam-permeable wet and dry batter, b. the dry breading being coated with a moisture-repellent barrier layer of fat which is in the solid state below 0 ° C, c. a supporting fish compartment product storage (14) having air gaps (22), spaced from the floor or a plate in the microwave (Fig. 8).
