DESCRIZIONE
The invention aims at a method for cultivating chimeric macroalgae, especially brown algae, where chimeric individuals are obtained in the laboratory and subsequently transferred to their definitive habitat. Chimeric macroalgae have advantages in their growth rate and greater resistance to environmental extremes in comparison to non-chimeric algae, so the method of the invention is especially useful for the commercial cultivation of these algae or for the recolonization of areas where the natural population of these algae has decreased significantly.
