RIASSUNTO
With the growing popularity of social media and availability of high-speed internet connectivity, the HR professionals are increasingly leveraging on the social networking sites like Face book, Instagram, linked in, Twitter, etc. for fishing personal information and clues and factoring them in their routine decision making with regard to the screening, recruitment, monitoring and selection for the organization. The wider reach and coverage along with the informality of such channels add to the reliability of such data as compared to the disclosures under formal data collection and scanning tools. Even as picking up of the profiles from the social networking sites is becoming increasingly tempting for HR professionals, it is pertinent to discuss the validity and fairness of such exercises and delineate the ethical boundaries not to be crossed in the wake of the afforded ease and over enthusiasm of performance.
